Role Overview
Broadridge is growing! We are looking for our next Database Engineer to join our team. We are seeking a technical expert in designing, managing, and administering Databases on premise and in Cloud (AWS) to meet the shifting organizational demands. Candidate will be working closely with development team and key stakeholders and apply technical proficiency across various aspects of database support for our clients using various tools to perform fault analysis, failure avoidance and diagnosis and resolution for any impacting issues.

Responsibilities
- Willing to work in 24X7 rotational shifts with on-call support.
- 5+ years of experience in Database Engineering role with primary expertise in SQL Server.
- Good to have knowledge\expertise in other DB platforms.
- Perform DB performance tuning and troubleshooting on Production DB systems as needed.
- Perform SQL Server query plan analysis and provide recommendations to development teams.
- Closely work with development teams in developing and testing database code, stored procedures, triggers etc.
- Troubleshoot and fix database latency, deadlocks, blockings, waits and resource utilization problems. Prepare RCA and provide recommendations.
- Design, architect, and implement new and existing SQL Server instances for scalability and reliability.
- Work in a technical role with other IT towers to develop and adopt a comprehensive SQL server strategy.
- Optimize Database performance by closely working with Development teams providing guidance and recommendations as needed.
- Work with Development and Product teams on data models.
- Perform day to day DBA tasks for production and non-production databases.
- Install and Perform DB upgrades and DB patching in a large DB farm following best practices.
- Understand the role of database and its integration points with the application and be able to advise on troubleshooting avenues during production troubleshooting bridges.
- Develop custom monitoring alerts and performance metrics for database servers.
- Develop automations using T-SQL, PowerShell, or any compatible programming languages.
- Good knowledge of Windows, SRE and system administration activities Architect and implement High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions using SQL Server Always ON, replication, log shipping etc.
Your profile
- Minimum five (5) years of recent hands-on experience in SQL development, SQL Database Administrator and Data Warehouse
- Extensive hands-on experience with SQL Server
- Education: BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent
- Financial Industry experience is a plus
- Strong analytical abilities and problem-solving skills; strong communication skills
- Working knowledge of ETL techniques, tools, and processes
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in using tools to optimize database
- performance. SQL server is a must
- Knowledge and hands-on experience in cloud architecture, AWS, Jenkins, and
- deployment process is a plus.
- Knowledge of AWS\Azure\GCP cloud is a plus
